Chemical Resistant Gloves

Chemical Resistant Gloves are gloves that have been certified resistant to chemical hazards under the AS/NZS 2161 Australian Glove Testing Standards.
The Glove Company has two specialised Chemical Resistant Gloves.

Chemical Resistance in Disposable Gloves

Often you will find that your job requires a disposable glove, yet you will be dealing with nasty chemicals as well. In this case, it is super important to make sure that you are using high-quality disposable gloves. Cheap disposable gloves will not protect you from any chemical hazards, and will most likely rip or tear as you are putting them on.

The Glove Company realised there was a massive gap in the market for a high quality super strong disposable glove.

That’s why we decided to design and manufacture our TGC branded range of disposable gloves.

TGC Black Nitrile. High quality super strong disposable gloves.

Disposable gloves are the absolute best gloves for anyone who requires chemical protection against incidental chemical contact.

If a user is wearing a disposable glove, they will be protected against the majority of accidental chemical splashes or spills. The layer of nitrile between the person’s hand and the chemicals will provide adequate barrier protection.  If someone accidentally spills chemicals, they will have more then enough time to remove and dispose of the chemical contaminated gloves safely. It is recommended that if you do experience incidental chemical contact, that you do then change your disposable gloves to a fresh new pair. The contaminated pair will still last a while (depending on what chemical spilt,) however, now you have an extremely high chance of cross contaminating any surface you touch. For example, if you spilt chemicals on your disposable gloves, but don’t get a new pair, and then you pick up a pen, your pen now has skin-irritating chemicals on it. So if you were to pick this pen up again without wearing any gloves, your hands would become inflamed and irritated.   That is why we do recommend changing to a fresh, clean pair of disposable gloves, anytime you experience a spill or incidental chemical contact.

Cheap poor quality disposable gloves, especially vinyl gloves and latex gloves, are not chemical resistant and will not protect you from chemical splashes spills or incidental contact.

A common mistake in the glove wearing industries is that all disposable gloves are made equal, and this is just not the case. Especially when it comes to types of gloves that are made from nitrile material. The more time spent processing the nitrile disposable glove, the higher quality, stronger chemical resistance and puncture resistance the glove will have. In the industry the amount of processing is often referred to as ‘Surface Modified Technology’. This simply means how much the surface of the glove has been processed or has had additional technological advancements made to the glove material.

All of our TGC gloves are made from high quality nitrile material which has surface modified technology infused into them. This means our TGC Nitrile Gloves have Low Sweat Technology, as well as high chemical resistance and puncture resistance too.
